In three stories spanning ancient Jerusalem, 17th-century France,

and 1950s China, a mother, a mystic, and a martyr each encounter

the haunting mystery of the Real Presence.

Mother

Mystic

Martyr

In ancient Jerusalem, Mary and John grapple with immeasurable loss after the crucifixion. But they remember the promise of the "Bread of Life" and discover a fresh hope. Could Jesus actually be alive in the Eucharist?

In 17th century France, Margaret Mary Alacoque is profoundly marked by her first Communion. Through mystical visions she encounters the burning love of the Sacred Heart, a love that asks her to sacrifice everything.

In 1950s Beijing, a captive priest languishes in a desecrated church seized by Communist forces. He searches for a way out, but  a young girl finds her way in — to receive the scattered hosts, forcing him to reckon with his own belief in the Real Presence.

Authentic French locations & characters

To capture the authenticity of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque’s story, we will film on location in a 17th Century France Mansion with French-speaking actors and actresses.

France is where the seeds of the Sacred Heart devotion were planted.

What if the wildest claim in Christianity—that a piece of bread becomes God—is actually true?

If the Eucharist is false, Catholics are crazy. But if it’s true, it changes everything.

This film taps into the cultural moment: a rising hunger for transcendence, an obsession with cults, and a world asking deep questions.

Godbread tears the veil off the quietest, most explosive claim in human history—and reveals the treasure we’ve all been searching for—the one great thing to love on earth.

Three stories converge around a single, seismic question.

If this bread truly becomes God...

do we dare to live as if it’s true?

Awe and wonder

This isn’t another “inspirational” faith-based film. The tone is bold and unflinching. The stories resist easy answers—because the truth is too enormous, it doesn’t fit in our safe, curated lives. Viewers will be shaken and silenced.

Visually, Godbread draws from the controlled, meditative style of filmmakers like Mel Gibson (The Passion of the Christ). Every frame is intentional. The pace is contemplative and unhurried—like the pacing and rhythm of praying the Rosary.

The “shock” in these stories isn’t horror—it’s biblical awe. The kind of holy terror that brings mortals to the ground when they encounter the living God.
